Conquering castles and a crash

Happy Swiss National Day! Thursday, 1st of August
Today we set about conquering yet another castle, this one part of a group of castles on islands in the lake at the town of Trakai, a former seat of Lithuanian Grand Dukes. We found the entrance unguarded and went in only losing € 17.50 in the process (which included the permission to take photographs). Unfortunately, the Duke and Duchess had heard of our arrival and so we found their thrones vacated.

After the conquest we strengthened our selves with pizza and the 'Sip Sap' of birch trees.

Little did we know that during our visit to the castle the enemy had tried a sneak attack at our base camp. Brave Sir Bruce fought them off gallantly, however, leaving his opponent stumped and with damaged armour.

The police arrived at the scene and it took a while for the report to be filled in. The lady whose house we had parked in front of was talking to her son on the phone and then waved us over to talk to her son. Turns out that Artur, her son, currently lives in Switzerland and speaks English. He helped us a great deal translating forth and back between Lithuanian and English. So many thanks Artur and Mom! We'll stay in contact.
